recording vinyl to mp3s

i want to record vinyl to mp3 ive got steinberg wavelab which i use for recording mixes is this fine to use to get all my vinyl to mp3 just making sure incase i sell the vinyl and have poor quality mp3s

Your software is fine for that. If you have the space, why don't you record the tracks as waves :?

Wave is the best. Those settings are fine dont change them

cheers one last thing i dont have any software that actually plays wav files ive realplayer and windows media do you know i can dload any?

Yes, both should play wavs. I prefer winamp, though.

You know they have USB turntables now that simplify the process slightly, no?

ahh yes everytime i clicked on a wav recording it takes me back to the wavelab suite where it was made where as mp3s just played through windows but i just need to open it with windows and voila sure it didnt work before

Its just a case of what the default program is when the file is clicked isnit

right click and choose open with

ahh just a thought-mixer settings does this make a difference? i have my gains set at 12 and master volume at 2(out of ten)
