Production for an idiot like me?

Anyone know the easiest program for production? All I want to do really is get some nice drum patterns, normally I have to find a loop to steal from something else but it's never quite how I want it.
I tried cubase and didn't even get it to make a noise, abelton I'm not talking to again. I think I tried fruity loops which again I didn't get. What's left? Reason? Sounds to me like more of that cubase shit.

help me obi wan, you're my only hope.

Dunno about software for you Stabby, if you've already tried all those.

Maybe this is the way forward for you:

if I wasn't risking my pc crashing I'd take a look at that link. Having a usb driver problem whenever I'm running p2p/torrent programs. Suprised the pc is still alive to be honest.

You really should try ableton again. Even if you import beat loops you can easily slice them to fook (with live 7) and make your own patterns/kits.

that's what I need, I'm sure I'm doing things the longest way possible but I can't control that abelton to save my life.

Take this for example
zSHARE - cosmos.mp3
a minute and a half long and I had to use this many edits already

For sure the wrong way to go about it

yeah I love that tune. It's a mash up I'm working on with a new tune by glenn morrison - no sudden moves, a top track on it's own.

Looking through my favorites I see some ableton sites, going to have to bite the bullet I guess.
