Firefox 3 beta

TBH I am not a big fan of firefox on a pc but on a Mac it is my primary browser. I am just downloading the beta for their next incarnation. Any one else experienced it because it is quite different.

tbh I've been a firefox user for a few years now but with my new copy of XP I have gotten IE 7 at last. I'm giving it a trial to see if I get on with it but it's all much of a muchness to me, as long as stuff loads and it has tabs I'm not fussed

Is FF3 different in a good way or in a "hmmm you've done something silly here..."

Any particular reason?
I rate it, although the latest versions of 2 seem to crash sometimes. Gives you your tabs back on reopening though. Haven't tried 3 yet.
I find IE crashes just as much .
Firefox vs. IE 6 is a no-brainer. Firefox vs. IE 7 - well it's closer but I still prefer Firefox.

Well I gave it a trial but I'm now back on FF, IE7 was just a bit shit really, imo IE7 is a rough copy of FF functionality but the details are just lacking which makes FF a cut above. I did go back to FF2 mind, I wasn't ready for something completely new!

Not tried the beta, but FF2 is great. With extensions like adblock and noscript, it fookin' rulez.

For some reason FF is more resource-heavy than IE7, any ideas? May have to start broadcasting my show in IE again...

Firefox is written for multiple architectures. There's usually a compromise in performance when this happens, in an attempt to make sure you're keeping as much common code as possible. MS, on the other hand, are coding for only one platform, and they have all the inside expertise on how to do it.

Buy more memory. You'll feel better.
