| Manchester CityCentre Fan | Holy sheet my Tinternet PC is rocking. Have got that new drive installed, 4 partitions! ![]() 1 for software, 1 just for temp files, 1 for general files.... and... wait for it... The biggest partition is for 1 thing only.. to record loads of sproggy mixes. The plan is well and truly in action. No more need to defrag after downloading loads of tunes, no more 'haven't got drive space to record a mix'. The only problem is the pants selection of smilies on teh Mongforum with which I'm supposed to express my joy. \o/ ![]() |

might replace my OS drive with a high speed one and use the current one for more storage... not sure how much difference those high speed drives actually make though, for the price i could get a few on raid 0... any ideas? | |

| Experimenting | while we are talking of harddrives, I've got an internal western Digital (160gb) and also bought a Seagate Barracuda 250gb for my dad. Under XP when formatted both drives will not be recognised as more than 127gb (also shows in the BIOS) . Each drive was formatted by XP when rebuilding each system (also formatted on different computers) We both have the same motherboard - The Asus A7SX-x (from memory). Presumably it could be a bios update thing? Any ideas whats going on????? Stumped, am I. To give you a listing of what I use at the mo: Internal: 160gb Western Digital, 80GB Seagate barracuda External USB2 drives (these are a GOD SEND) Maxtor - 300GB (uses powerpack/plug to power) Hewlett Packard - 250GB (uses plug to power) 80GB Toshiba (standalone euns off USB wire, no powerpack/plug needed)
