| aka The HEAT | I'm really surprised they don't face a class-action suit for this (then again, maybe they are - but, I haven't openly heard anything). Many people have complained about the amount of bugs in Windows OSes upon release. Yet, they continually do this nonsense. They are trying it with XBox, too. The Red Ring of Death is a known problem that Microsoft has blatantly ignored addressing. They could've done the ethical thing and said, we will take care of the problem and you should hold off on purchasing until we can figure out what batches are effected or fix the heating errors. Though, I was watching a program that suspected Microsoft is actually facing a potential suit on this. We shall see.

| Senior Member | its not just microsoft needing to provide a stable OS developers need to be providing stable products as well...MS gets fucked on for this, some piece of shit software crashes and MS gets the blame, users fuck shit up and MS gets the blame, even when theres no problem MS still gets blame... theyve gotta make an OS that works with an infinite number of different hardware and software configurations, its not like mac where theres about 3 different combinations of hardware, and maybe 9 different softwares available...theres also a far greater user base of PCs... they shouldnt just be putting out shit software and then fixing it as they go... but i dont see anything wrong with using the users as a method of testing software... its the only reasonable way of testing such a huge number of different setups. |

But I still wouldn't touch a new OS with a barge pole. | |

| Senior Member | the only "problem" i had with vista is my video cards drivers were only in beta stages...still had no actual problems with it and clocked rainbow six with full graphics without a hitch right away...had other games working perfectly as well people were upset about this particular card as it was advertised as supporting DX10, when in fact it didnt, because the drivers werent ready... not a problem with vista, but the card manufacturer... so i also agree, new OS, buggy or not, isnt going to be 100% supported by everything straight off the bat... obviously if you have specialised hardware / software that you rely on its a good idea to make sure it will run on the new OS before going out and installing it |
