Hotmail Account Hacked.

It would appear I have had my hotmail account hacked. Needless to say I am a bit concerned as it was my main e-mail account and contains invoices for purchases I have made online. I have reset my online banking details and cancelled my cards as a precaution.

MSN are not interested and it would appear that they do not do anything about accounts that have been hacked.

Has anybody else had this happen to them , and what did you do, is it just a case of setting up a new account and starting again??

I noticed someone had sent some junk emails out from me when my mates replied. I changed my password then never had any bother since

That sucks man. If i recall many many moons ago one of my hotmail accounts got hacked. I managed to get it back but you need to provide them with all you registration details.

Like you my hotmail is my primary account and on occasions I do worry - infact it crossed my mind a couple of days ago. I should back it up and purge it. *** me puts that on my to do list for this weekend ***

As above change you password often and dont store it on your PC.

Ive found googlemail to be a billion times better. Rarely if ever check my hotmail account as its full of spam, whereas gmail does a much better job of filtering the spam out

gmail is excellent. I've not used hotmail (except for MSN and spam) for ages.

I have plenty of invites if you still need them.

i just set my hotmail filter to exclusive, no junk, of course clowns cant email me unless ive emailed them first, but thats not really an issue for me

I don't think that's down to gmail or hotmail m8. Tis exactly the opposite with me. I get bazillions of spam mails to gmail, and hardly any on hotmail. It's just down to who has your email IMO, and your filter settings.

Although I will give gmail a little more credit for working out what is and what isn't spam. I think they may have a slight edge in that respect.

Hmmm i have never had a problem with Spam in my hotmail account, I'm always super carefull who gets my e-mail address as well.

I had a fairly crappy password that had not been changed for ages which is why I think I got hacked.

It is however a right pain changing over all my online accounts to my new e-mail address, and I have heard nothing from MSN despite several e-mails.

I also seem to have lost access to my ebay account which is now being investigated by ebay.

What a load of shit.
