| remember the early 90's | CRAP, noob at work i've deleted a bunch of files that i still needed.. problem is they didn't show up in my recycle bin.. (and i didn't press shift+del) any ideas where i can find this?

| Get monged out with mong | There is undelete software around. Try download.com - don't install the software on the same partition.

| Get monged out with mong | If this was a shared drive and not local to that PC then there should be a back up. You will need to contact your IT people though.

This unfortunately is a misconception. No files are EVER deleted from a pc, what in fact happens is the Operating System marks the drive so that data can be written over it. That is why there is software which can recover files years after they were deleted as Mong mentioned. But unfortunately this is normally an expensive practice and can take a long time best thing is to slap yourself and make regular back ups. | |
