i use serato and its fantastic...

if you have a 2 channel soundcard theres free software available, but if u dont and ur going to invest then go for serato. Im not sure what different features other products might have, but I use serato for scratching and it does a solid job...im not really into the gimmicks of it so cant make comment in that regard, but u can be safe in assuming whatever features serato has will work properly...

The second edition relates to the control vinyls moite

Quote:
Side A: 10 minutes plus vinyl select area. Side B: 15 minutes

The Second Edition Scratch LIVE colored vinyls are different from the first edition (CV01) in two ways. Firstly, the records are mastered on much better equipment than the original, and do not suffer from any noticeable pitch variation (0.0026% max).

Secondly, the absolute positioning signal (APS) used in these special edition colored vinyls differ from the CV01 enabling the software to distinguish which version of the vinyl is being used, and even which side is playing! The second edition is obvious from the red band on the upper right corner of the sleeve. The label on the vinyl, besides being marked CV02, has large A and B markings to easily tell between the 10:00 and 15:00 sides. Scratch LIVE software version 1.2 and higher is required to use the second edition vinyl
You would be eligible to the upgrades just by owning the setup

the 2nd edition is just a software difference. snap it up, alhtough i reckon it would go cheaper than that. serious. the 1st ednt had a glitch in the software that kept time ever so slightly different to the 2nd ednt. it's all sorted now. buy it. serious. best thing ever !!!!!!

anyone who's touched it will agreee!

**edit i payed like 430 stirling for mine, new... i'd pay it again in a second. plus there's fuck all that can go wrong with it. apart from the vinyl wearing out, which costs 15 quid to replace. best thing ever... no lie.... even works with midi/cd decks/vinyl. whicever way you want. i know it sounds like i work for them but get it. ask aunty/someone on here for a ref on me if you must.

I take it to every gig. you have all your tracks available played from vinyl/cdjs any time you want. if i didn't have a girlfriend i'd wank over it every night...................

ok

/gayness

get it.

dont worry about second edition, the software is free download off the rane website, the installation CDs going to be outdated anyway so I doubt you'll even touch it... as for the vinyl its only a few bucks...besides other ones ur looking at are probably second edition anyway...

i got the 57SL the moment it hit the stores here, although regular vinyl is still somewhat superior for scratching serato is definitely a lot of fun - being able to scratch virtually anything is the best
