PC died, where to buy a new one? - Page 5

So my Ubuntu installation is coming along OK, I'm having some issues configuring my shit USB modem, but I reckon tonight that'll be sorted. Thing is it takes so farken long to load up Vista that what I'm doing is trying shit out at home, when it doesn't work coming in and using my work PC to find the solution. Long process, but yeah, once I'm connected to the net through Ubuntu I reckon it'll be fine and dandy, it's so much quicker than Vista it's unbelievable.

Huzzah! Now I have Ubuntu running, internet running. I just need to modify a few things like the screen resolution, get a few bits of software installed, get comfortable with running a totally new operating system, then I'll be right.

Anyway, a month down the track and the mrs just isn't adapting well to Ubuntu. So I've had to bite the bullet and get a copy of XP. Oh well, certainly worth trying but I think for most people it's probably a bit of a pain in the arse where Windows is just easier to deal with... Not because it's better, it's just what everyone is used to after years and years of using the same shit.
