| Get monged out with mong | I wont be buying one that's for sure. My macbook is fine for now though it would benefit from more RAM I guess.

| Senior Member | mine was one of the mid 2007 ones. not the latest revision but the one before. (MB061LL/A) <http://support.apple.com/specs/macbook/macbook_mid_2007.html> The memory was kingston (designed for macbook) from insight uk Insight UK - Search: Components > Memory > "ktamb667*" seems to have gone down a touch... although, any model earlier than mine i believe would only accept 2gb (or not register over 2gb) can't quite remember on that one exactly, but mine reads the full 4gig. |

| Senior Member | if you get your serial number from the system profiler applications/utilities/system profiler, you can put it into the apple support site... Apple - Support - Specifications (on the right side of the page) this will give you your model number. the specs on the mac site are not exactly true ,in my case, the max allowed memory says 2gb but i found out on some other site it could take upto 4, and perhaps only be able to use 3.3GB. i took a loot around to check which site i got the info off... Apple - Support - Discussions - 2GHz MacBook - Max RAM 2GB or 4GB? ... lead me to ##### A Guide to MacBook RAM Upgrades - MacNN Forums which should tell you whether your macbook can accept 2/3.3/4 gb of ram... i knew mine would work with at least 3.3 so i went for 4gb cos at that price i thought it was a steal tbh. |
