So What's Next...

OK so not that I am anywher near this stage (Give me 2 Years!!) but I am interested....

You have made your tune... you love it!!... You get it mastered and have the final edit... What are the next steps to getting it signed to a major label...

Trying to get DJs playing it??? Whoring it out to as many labels as you can?? Soundclick???

Just interested to see if any of you guys have had anything of note released and how it went... Reason is because after browsing Sounclick last night again and finding some more really good stuff for free I thought "This can't be the best way to get your stuff out there and earning money from it???"

Thoughts???

(A nice Friday Debate!!!)

You have to suck up to a famous DJ and try to get them to play it.

Well I'm no expert in being rich and famous, but one thing strikes me as pretty obvious...

If your going to get noticed, then you should exploit as many avenues as you can find and your time allows to promote your music. Soundclick is just one such opportunity. Basically, all you're gonna need to get your break is for the right person to hear your stuff and take an interest. The wider you cast your net, the better chance you have of success.

Showcase websites, demo CDs, word of mouth, call in at a record label office, get gigs/do radio - play your tracks, whatever you can do basically.
