| Dirty Chunky Housey | Production Software Ok Guys... I need some advice... I am desperate to start producing my own tunes... I have a midi keyboard (Edirol PCR-1) and my new speakers on on their way. As a non musical (ie I don't play the keyboard and can't read music) person what is the best software for me to start on to get the basics. I am not expecting to be making good tunes any time soon but I need to start somewhere. I am very very inpatient but if I can find some software that I get on with and just get a few riffs and drum loops that sound OK then I will get hooked and put a lot more time into it. Any advice on software and also "idiots guide to" type of reference material would be very much appreciated. Oh and I am going to be producing Chunky, Dirty House typr of stuf if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

| Frequency Specialist | Yes you need at least four very large sacks of patience. I prefer Fruity Loops personally. It's cheap and does pretty much everything you want. Get a sample CD, too. That's the easiest way to get started I reckon.

| Manchester CityCentre Fan | I like FL because it's easy to get started on. I want to get familiar with all the popular software used to produce EDM, so ask me this question again in a year and I'll be the best person to ask this question.. Possibly. |
