Mixer choice

Right I need a mixer..got about 300 to spend

Got three in mind
Dj Mixers - Vestax PMC05 Pro SL Mixer - DJ Empire - East London's Pro DJ Equipment Store
Dj Mixers - Ecler Hak310 / Hak 310 Mixer - DJ Empire - East London's Pro DJ Equipment Store
DJ Mixers - Stanton - SMX501 Mk2 Mixer - decks.co.uk

As well as mixing I also want to fulfill a secret desire to practise scratching

any advice or plain fuck offs welcome

Not familiar with the Stanton too much, but what I would say is that the Ecler seems a little more scratching orientated, and the Vestax seems more 50/50 scratching/mixing. From what I can gather, if people buy an Ecler for scratching and mixing, they tend to go more NUO.
Just a thought though. The Hak's probably really decent for mixing too. All the turntablist guys seem to really rate them. But if you're doing mainly mixing with a bit of scratching it may not quite be the right one, maybe the Vestax is better.
Everyone's wondering whether I've flipped now because I've made a mixer post where I don't automatically say "go for the Ecler" .

SMX rocks for mixing and the faders are sexytime.

Dunno how it compares to the others in scratch terms, but I suspect it is better for straight mixing.

Get an SMX.

Mixing is your bread and butter, the scratch elements will be a bonus.
