I know that feeling! My first disco for 2 years involved me forgetting adapter jack for 3.5mm to 6.25mm for headphones, taking wrong cable for mic and discovering some of my cds weren't in cases...

I was nervous enough to start with as i'm so out of practise, but not being able to cue anything made it even worse! Had 1 problem near end where i pressed play to discover it was cd2 not cd1 and so not born slippy but some rock track that noone has heard of. shortly after pulled out prodigy singles album and asked chick to pick pink or yellow as they've not marked on 1 or 2 on then either! fortunately was pendulum remix of voodoo ppl...

had nightmare getting home, finished at midnight, took about 15mins to find cab, dropped off gear at 1am and finally got home just before 3am! oxford st is closed in one direction (mine of course) and so took various buses to get round it, then cab to finish off!

I just downloaded half a gig of 80s shite, add that to my apres ski shite and the ultimix shite and I think I'm ok. Just need a long mix for when I want a break/have to eat. Going to play some cafe del mar type chill out for eating I think.
Wedding djs get such flack for not being real djs but fuck that for a job, way harder than anyone gives it credit for.

So my plan is:

No requests for a starter
No 1st dance/whatever it is people at weddings do
Play some playlist auto crossfade 80s for the reception
Cafe del mar chill shizzle for eating
Back to the 80s for the party but slowly mix it up with some mash ting, avoiding 4/4 beats like the plague, or anything remotely near 125bpm.
Get the fuck out of there by midnight to catch the last train home.

What could go wrong except I just found out I left my only pair of shoes in belgium
