| "I was afraid of that." | Maybe try taking up hookers and blow? That might help. Or, just bash one out (love that term!) every time you need a smoke. Seriously though, good luck. I know a lot of people struggle with this, and knowing what your personal triggers are will really help you quit. |

| Red Kidney Beans | It takes three weeks for the body to get over the nicotine. Then you should be fine on the actual addiction aspect of cigarettes. You are actually addicted to the nicotine nothing else. So patches don't actually really work as they just keep feeding the nicotine bug and once you stop the patches the itch will still be there. Also, think of it as stopping not quitting. Its not like your giving up anything, unless you count paying to kill yourself, being smoky and disgusting a good thing. You also need to get over the brainwashing most importantly. smoking is not relaxing it just cures your addiction to nicotine. And it definetly isn't that hard to give nicotine, you go to sleep for hours every night and don't wake up every 20 minutes fiending for it do you? I am reading a book called "The easy way to stop smoking" by allen carr, he has loads of centres and one of them is by me. He has over a 90% success rate in those so thought id give the book a try. goes for cheap on ebay. He does say you're meant to not stop smoking until you finish the book, I presume thats because he has some inspirational message to state. ![]()

| Shiver me timbers | Got through the first day. The daytime was alright, but evening was harder. I went to the gym and did a long cardio sesh, got home and mowed the lawn with my new strimmer. I'll be hella fit by the time the cravings go... The cravings are strange, following Mr Carr's advice, if you ignore them/don't let yourself dwell on them they go away really quickly. But at the same time they are quite a powerful feeling, like you almost automatically reach out for the pack that isn't there, and then you get a bit pissed off when you can't have one. I'm anticipating that the weekend will be a right pain in the arse. Have to keep busy. Things I'm going to do to not think about smoking: Get back into learning my guitar Might take up Mong's offer and do some radio shows (although my music collection is not currently up to date or strictly legal, if that's a massive issue) Gym Thinking I might take up snowboarding at the new indoor snowboarding centre nearby (Trafford Centre), and also indoor climbing (both are a bit expensive initially though, they have compulsory beginner's courses) Crack |
