| "I was afraid of that." | The motivation is back Well, I've been struggling with the motivation lately, but I think I've got it back. I moved into a new place, smaller than my last, and had been unable to set up my decks. Well, yesterday I went to Home de Pot and bought a six foot counter top, some 2x4s, 1x2s and made a proper dj table for myself. I've got it set up now after some re-arranging, got my new lappy with Traktor Scratch up and running superbly, and am back at it! I've been mixing like a mad man that past two days and just picked up right where I left off. Been getting more into using the features of TS as well, such as the loop functions/effects, etc, just trying to expand as a dj a bit. I had taken a break from pretty much everything dj related for a couple of months, here in KS and online. Hardly listened to edm. I guess sometimes you need that break. Also, was on a business trip a couple of weeks ago and got to listen to a proper dj spin some tunes. He was competent but not great. As I was at level 10 drunkery I was getting mad that his mixes were off...but oh well. Was just glad to hear something, because here in KS there is NOTHING. So, recorded a mix today, gave it a good listen and am pleased for the most part. So, here's to everyone hoping y'all are doing well and keeping the tunes going! |

| "I was afraid of that." | It's good to be back. I ordered a nice pair of monitors for my new setup. KRK Rokit 5 G2. Should be plenty enough for my little room. Will let you know how they are. Should be arriving tomorrow. No pics yet, Mong. I'll get one once I've got the monitors set up. Sproggy, in terms of a mix, I'm working on a nice sexy deep house mix. "Working" as in finding the tracks. As soon as I have found them I'll put them together in one go and post it up. Don't have the patience to do it more than once, so may not be perfect, but it'll be quality choons. And, USA beat T&T 3-0 in WC2010 Qualifying today. W00t! ![]() |

| "I was afraid of that." | What kind of system are you running your TS on? What are the settings you're using? I'm the same as you...if I upgrade TS to Traktor for timecode use, I won't use the extra decks for anything other than deck duplicating, or assigning loops and samples. Pretty powerful to do that and then still effect them, cut them up, etc. |

| MiniMarc | I run it on a macbook (fairly new , the 600 quid one) but i upgraded the ram to 4 gig.I got a deal when i bought TS for a free upgrade to Traktor. Have been using a 3 deck setup (1cdj) a little but i think the way to do it is to use the 2 extra decks in internal mode and sync them together.realistically i cant manually keep track of 4 turntables so will keep the loop ones synced.think im on version 3.4 but havnt upgraded to 3.4.1 cos seems ppl are having a few problems. Think Im gona get a Faderfox controller as the final piece to the puzzle cos its pretty small so easy to take to gigs/parties |
