Should I just do a compressed DJ Mag Top 100 DJs thread?
* The top 100 DJs comp is here, vote at blah blah blah
* It's all a load of bollocks, popularity contest, blah, Tiesticle
* It's not bollocks, it's a legitimate gauge of EDM and DJs across the world. A barometer, so to speak.
* Tiesto is not a part of the male genitalia, he is a rockin trance DJ. Anyway, Armand van something won it last year, which proves it isn't rigged
* Trance is shit and it's all Dutch and Merkin kids voting, coz English people have taste and wouldn't vote for such shit music. If it were up to the English, Fedde Le Grande would take it
* I'm voting for MO75 in an effort to undermine the Top 100 DJs comp
* (after the announcement of who won) Tiesto won, some Van or other came in second, Sasha (who hasn't actually played a single set all year) slipped to 97th, and in a shock surprise some guy called Bob O'Hare from Limerick got in the top 10, even though he's 67, retired from his old job as a postie, doesn't own decks, has never DJed in his life, and really just enjoys doing a bit of an Irish jig with a pint of Guinness down his local

I beg to differ, kind Sir, as I saw Sasha (and Digweed for that matter) just this past March in Miami. I must say, he was one of the best DJs at the show (perhaps that could go without saying, though?). The overall best crowd rocker was Boys Noize (ripped it!), then Fedde le Grande, and Fatboy Slim. Josh Wink did a good job getting people to move, too, though. Actually, Digitalism and Deep Dish did, too. But, this is a tangent.

I would have thought that Eric Prydz would have been up in the top 10 this year too.... I know he has had some cheesy productions but he DJ sets rock and every man and his dog knows who he is these days...

Usually a trance DJ who wins however?? Maybe Dave Pearce???

Yeah, I wasn't saying that everything in my post was actually real, it was more a comment on the clicheness of the whole top 100 DJs thing. Sasha is actually playing down the road tonight (Sankeys)...

So Apart from "Boys Noize" (is that a gay band?), "Fedde Le Grande", "Fatboy Slim", "Josh Wink", "Digitalism" and "Deep Dish" - Sasha was "one of " the best dj's there. Hmmm.... not really that much of a compliment when you put it like that...... are you sure he wasn't the only dj left after you mentioned the other people?

It can't really be about who is the best, because the BEST is an opinion. How does one qualify the best? You may be able to judge on sales, event turnout, longevity, creativity, and innovation. Maybe if you put all that together with each having a set of points?
