Firefox is written for multiple architectures. There's usually a compromise in performance when this happens, in an attempt to make sure you're keeping as much common code as possible. MS, on the other hand, are coding for only one platform,
and they have all the inside expertise on how to do it.
Buy more memory. You'll feel better.
