I looked at getting a new game over the weekend. I didn't fancy re-trying Halo 3 at the harder level, so I thought I'd break my "Never pay £40 for a game" rule.
I looked at reviews of Assassins Creed and Call Of Duty 4 - and the negative comments all mentioned that the single player side of both games is a little on the short side, and that for AC it can get a little repetative after a while.
I didn't want to pay £40 for either after reading that.
However, my eyes were drawn to a BioWare game called "
Mass Effect". Same kind of deal as their previous adventure games (including "Knights Of The Old Republic", which I spent months playing). Reviews looked good so I took the plunge.
I was a little bit worried that it wouldn't live up to KoToR's gameplay due to the lack of Teh Lightsabrezzz, but I've really got into it. Cool story so far, excellent voice acting and facial expressions during the cut scenes, nice balance of FPS/RPG during the combat sequences.
All in all, really rather fucking good.
